FYI: Please bear with me as I make some adjustments to my blog. Its been along time coming and I’m pretty excited to have a change.
No really this update is harder than I thought
I am ready to take a hiatus. I need some me time. As you all know I have been up and down with my business this year. To be honest I wanted to be done doing sessions this fall. I didn’t think that I could make it happen in getting the 2 older kids off to their soccer practices 3 times a week along with 1-2 games all the while the the other 2 kids had 1 practice and 1 game and then there’s Beckam who needs to be watched every waking moment. But as you can see it all worked out…it always does.
I will be gone for a few months. You can still contact me about scheduling sessions in the spring (April 2012) and if you have any questions.
I have a lot to think about. There are times that I want this big cool studio and something like this you’ll have to scroll down a bit to get their new digs.
This is one lady I followed when I first started my journey in photography….years ago. Click here. And don’t you love the look? More here & here & another. There are many times I dream of this but…I really don’t think it works for me to do it all the way yet. I love my smallness, I actually enjoy it.
I’ve also been thinking about my shooting style. I really LOVE the free spirit, the laughter, kids playing games & parents getting envolved with the kids…I may be asking for some vounteers to give it a try.
I love you all and Thank You for you business.
The most common thing I hear about why people don’t get their photos taken, I bet you can’t guess…it’s the “I’m too fat” or “I don’t look good in photos.” But the “I’m too fat” is the most common. I mean, I’m saying it all the time, but I make myself do it.
I made Heidi do it to…he he! Don’t hate me. She had her excuses too. Like we all do.
I think that sometimes it gets overwhelming like, “what clothes are we going to wear” and it’s also a stressful day in getting ready and making sure everyone is HAPPY, (you’ve seen my family photos first hand) even the husbands whine. Am I right ladies. Okay, not all husbands.
I know Heidi wanted to get them done but I just had to nudge her right into the right direction and so, now I want you to grab some popcorn cuz its a long post. I couldn’t help it. I have this disease of not being able to choose.
I mean seriously look at all this cuteness. And this momma did an amazing job on clothes. Oh, and you probably don’t believe it but I took these 2 weeks ago and it looks like they were done in the summer. The weather was amazing.
Many of my clients feel frustrated when it comes to photos. The number one frustration is “what do we were?”
I will usually give them some suggestions of colors that go well together. I also have a pdf of samples that I send out to them. I think it helps!!
I’ve also gone in the home and looked in their closets to see what can coordinate with everyone so that you don’t have to BUY anything new. I think that can be stressful to.
This session was fun we pulled it together in 2 days. I came over to her house one night with some of my clothes that I have that mixed well with some of what they had in the closet and…Voila…we have a cute family session that is styled. I would have to say I was quit proud of myself. I am such a simple girl T-shirt and jeans and I don’t care very much to shop. Yes, you heard me right I’m a girl and I don’t like to shop.
I got a couple of the outfits from Persnickety and the mustard dress from Karma Boutique in Pleasant Grove.
I am on a mission to get all my sessions done this week….just 2 more in line. Oh YEAH!!!!!!!! I’m ready to go shopping and get ready for the holidays.
Here’s something to enjoy. This is s senior session I did back in June or was it May. I can’t remember but I’m just getting to it. So, Abby thanks for being patient. I’ve takin’ advantage of you being in China this whole time but your coming home soon so I wanted to give you the gift of editing your session…I know I’m nice
